Please provide project information

Basic information about your project.

  • The cavity zone is the distance from the front of the substrate to the back of the facade panel.
  • Floor Height also refers to the typical vertical profile length, e.g. 3000mm
  • L1, L2, L3 if other vertical profile lengths are needed, e.g. under the windows or parapet.
  • Project substrate is the building material the rainscreen is fixed back to.
    • We assume the following properties:
      • Blockwork – 7.0 N/mm2
      • SFS - 1.2mm
      • Concrete - C25
      • Composite panel, - min 0.7mm steel
      • For fixing to SFS and/or steel we need to know the thickness of each element
    • For any comments on substrates, please use ‘Other’ field

Information about the cladding panel type and fixing method

  • Facade Panel Dimensions – basic information about the panel properties.
    • If panel weight is not known, please use thickness and density of the panel.
  • Natural Stone for horizontal rail calculation and FZP undercut specification – FZP undercut anchors need additional fixing calculation based on the natural stone properties.

Please supply all known imposed loadings on the façade.

If there are no project loadings provided, please provide information for wind load calculation.

Information about the loadings from the wind and other forces. If not specified, we will assume unfactored loadings.

  • Windload calculation required – based on the project details and location, we can determine values based on BS and EN codes.

If soffit calculation is required, we will consider this area separately from the vertical rainscreen area and new calculation needs to be done.
